Learning Goes 3D with Prismland! #Review and #Giveaway ~ CAN 04/25

| March 24, 2016 | 43 Comments

When it comes to learning, children are like sponges. They pick on everything they see and are told, and they can retain it. My younger children are 3 and 4 years-old, so they are constantly asking us questions about, well, EVERTYHING! We are now teaching them to read and simple math. When Prismland asked my family to review their Playset, I was excited and thought it was a great idea to have a new way to teach my kids more about geometry.

The PrismlandPals of Prismland are high quality plush toys created to introduce very young children to 3D solids. With these cute and friendly characters, the aim is to have little ones to develop their math and geometry skills. Prismland was founded by two recent university graduates from Toronto after having a successful Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.

My kids didn’t know which PrismPal to play with first! They liked how each one seemed to have their own sort of personality based on each of their facial expressions. Each PrismPal has a witty name that reflects their shape so kids will be able to remember the name of prism easier.

My kids then started to flip the PrimPals around in their hands to look at their shapes and sides. My son even started stacking them on top of each other to try and build structures out of them. He also liked that these learning toys were really soft and squishy so he could cuddle with them.

Each PrismPal is accompanied with a character booklet which has each PrismPal to teach short lessons children can take in and remember. My daughter learned so much about Rhonda Rhombohedron. Since she likes gems, she wanted to find out what she was. She liked counting Rhonda’s sides and edges while listening to me read all about her.

When playtime was over, it was really great to have this handy canvas Prismland Carrying Bag for my kids to place their new friends and their booklets in so they are not left scattered around our home. Everything fit snuggly inside of this bag, and I could tote and hang the bag up with ease.

Other great learning tools Prismland has to offer children are the downloadable worksheets, activities and backgrounds for your mobile phone and desktop for you to continue having fun while learning with Prismland and the PrismPals.

So if you are looking for ways to teach your children about geometry in a fun and playful manner, then look to the PrismPals from Prismland for some inspiration! My kids still love playing with each of these shape-tacular friends and continue to want to learn more about these prisms. Playtime will really be pop out in 3D with Prismland!

My name is Lian Wright. Born in Toronto, I came to Ottawa as a student to study Political Science at Carleton University, and came away with an Honours Degree, and decided to stay. I'm a huge sports fan, have a love of reading, and like experiencing new things whenever I can. I am now a mother of three children (11, 1 and 7 months old) and am kept constantly on my toes. My blog, Pieces of Me, is my way of sharing what I have enjoyed and encountered in my life so far as a mother. So far, being a mom has had it's expected ups and downs, but that's what makes being a parent so fulfilling for me. I've loved and learned from what's happened so far, and I can't wait to see what's in store for me next. I hope you enjoy the journey with me! Author's website.
