We’re almost finished decorating the new guest room. It’s time to “dress” the room…my fav part. Adding texture and dimension to the room brings it all together. I have a desk that I did a makeover on last year. You can check it out here. It needed to fit into it’s new space so in comes an easy DIY.
I was in Homesense and saw this pretty wrapping paper. It was only $3.99 and had to come home with me. I attached it to the back of the desk to add dimension to the desk and tie it in with the room.
Here is what you need:
- Measuring Tape
- Glue (I used a glue stick if you can believe it. I felt that anything else would show globs of glue through the thin paper)
What you do:
- Measure the area that you want and cut to size. These are my mama’s hands….she helped me with the project.
- Take your glue stick and glue all the edges and middle of the paper. Slowly place it onto your surface area. Using a glue stick allows you to manipulate the paper a bit to make sure you get it in the exact spot.
- If you don’t get the right measurement the first time, you have lots of paper to do it again.
Voila! A fresh.fabulous.sophisticated easy DIY that is inexpensive and adds dimension to any space.
I ended up cutting a piece to fit inside a frame and it worked perfectly on the bathroom shelf at the cottage. Love it.
Pick up some pretty wrapping paper and get creative.
Keep it Beautiful.
