I love birthdays! I think it stems from the fact that it about celebrating the day of someone’s birth and that life is precious, especially in today’s fast-paced world! Based on the results from Enbridge’s recent survey data, 82% of Canadians agree that they feel special when someone puts a lot of energy into celebrating their birthday. Sometimes it takes a lot of work and energy, but I have always liked putting something together to mark dates like these both big and small. I enjoy setting up scenes around our home for loved so they can see what I have put together.
One of my favourite celebrations I put together was for my younger daughter. It was for her 3rd birthday, and it was a chic princess themed party. I was inspired by one of her favourite dresses at the time, and I wanted to do something I knew she would enjoy. I wanted to make it as pink and as sparkly as I possibly could.
I wanted to use different sized and shaped boxes as part of the scene on the table to help show off the colour scheme for the party. I also wanted to make the table look like.chic, so I made sure the wrapping paper had a bit of sheen to it. I also used different sized vases. I filled them with beads and decorated them differently to make them seem more posh and glamorous. I felt these elements helped to give the scene more levels so that it is not flat.
I also used these boxes filled with sizzle paper in order to display some of the loot bags we were giving out, along with some of the accent pieces used to dress up the space, and for the tiara design kit here guests would be using to make their own tiara so they could as regal as my girl. They were a great idea as the centerpiece of the scene.
One of my favourite parts of this table was the place setting. It was simple yet elegant with the colours scheme. I wanted the cupcake to be the star of the setting as it was a bit cheeky and regal with the pink spiky icing design that was adorned with edible silver balls. I also used these mini rotating cupcake stands as a finishing touch to this part of the table.
When my daughter saw what I put together for her birthday party, she was overjoyed over the whole table! She made a beeline straight for the cupcake, and then she poked around at all of the other points of interest set up on the scene. My daughter enjoyed her special day, and she felt like a posh princess for a day. It was a day none of us will ever forget!
Enbridge also values the special moments birthdays create throughout our lives. Based on Enbridge’s recent survey data, 80% of Canadians believe that, with life getting more complicated, it’s even more important to celebrate life’s simple moments, like a birthday. This is why Enbridge created the Enbridge 100 Birthdays Video. It is a celebration of birthdays and delivering the natural gas to help Canadians making memories on their birthdays for over 165 years. This video features 100 people who are celebrating birthdays, from their first to their one hundredth, each blowing out the candles on their birthday cake. This video is a compilation of memories from all ages helps to remind us how important these special days are to each of us as time goes by.
As much fun as I had creating these fun themed celebrations for others, I had not put much thought into the amount of energy it takes to make events happen. I needed energy to bake the cupcakes in my oven, to heat up my glue gun to make sure certain pieces stayed together, to light up the room so I could see better to set up the scene, and to charge my phone so I could take photos of my DIY scene. I would be hard pressed to have been able to have accomplished many of these tasks without energy. Enbridge understands that our lives are energy-driven, and is proud to be able to provide energy to Canadians while being a part of so many wonderful family traditions.
So take a look at the special moments of wonderful birthday traditions by watching the Enbridge 100 Birthdays Video, and see why Enbridge believe that #birthdayscount.
