Given Enough Coffee, I Could Rule the World! Well, the exhausting day ahead, at the latest.
As a university student, I can honestly say that a warm of cup of coffee on campus definitely helped me stay more alert during those days where I had six hours of class in a row and felt like just going home, watching TV, and passing out on my sofa, and I know I’m not the only one. It’s why you can at least find either a café, Starbucks, Tim Hortons, or Second Cup on any campus building. And, while I know many who aren’t coffee lovers, it certainly leaves a hole the pockets of those who are. The average medium salted caramel mocha (my favorite – a must try) at Starbucks or Second Cup is at least $5 with tax. It certainly makes me regret not having a Keurig brewing system to brew my own coffee at home every morning to save some money!
Keurig Canada was kind enough to allow me and my wonderful family to test out the Keurig K-Cup K75 Platinum Brewer, along with the Starbucks Pike Place Roast, Bigelow English Breakfast Tea, and Café Escapes Hot Chocolate Mix. Assuredly, being the only avid coffee lover at home, I was beyond excited to test it out. The brewing system includes fantastic features, and there is such a large variety of K-Cups to purchase that it feels like I own my own little Starbucks right at home!
Unlike your regular, old little coffee machine, the Keurig K-Cup K75 Platinum Brewer has an LCD screen, which allows you to see and choose from a variety of five cup sizes for those afternoons where you only feel like having a small cup, or those long, tiring mornings where you need a travel mug at your side to keep you sane, whether it’s between tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. Keurig offers various options for the ones who aren’t extremely fond of coffee! There’s extra small cup, small cup, small mug, large mug, and travel mug. Keurig also allows the user to brew iced beverages, or hot water to blend with powdered hot chocolate, coffee, or tea.
The LCD screen also gives you the option to set a clock, to program your machine automatically with the “AUTO OFF” and “AUTO ON” feature. A must have if you routinely have your coffee at 6AM every morning, for example. The machine will be open and ready for you to brew your desired coffee the moment you wake up, and will automatically close on its own at the time you choose. Isn’t that neat?
In addition, you even get to program your brew temperature between 187 – 192F. Your coffee’s too hot for your taste? No problem. You can change the temperature to your liking! The owner’s manual even gives helpful tips and instructions on how to maintain and clean your brewing machine to keep it at its full potential. How helpful, Keurig!
Personally, without a doubt, would I recommend the Starbucks Medium Pine Roast blend for any Starbucks fan. It’s almost like having your own personal Starbucks at home! Every single cup is always delicious. I even enjoy adding some chocolate syrup, milk, and sugar into my coffee to give it a little home made mocha taste.
As for the English Breakfast Tea, I thought it was just as delicious, since I’m a big fan of tea as well. It’s not too sweet or not too strong – perfect for your early morning tea to start the day!
But, if there’s one thing I love more than coffee, it’s (cinnamon) hot chocolate, and I’m rather picky when it comes to which kind. The Café Escapes Hot Chocolate Mix was good, but I love when hot chocolates have a rich, creamy taste. It reminded me of the one from Tim Hortons! Not too rich, not too sugary, and wonderful for the people who don’t have much of a sweet tooth! But, I find the chocolate tastes even better when you use a smaller cup size to have a richer, creamier taste! (Adding a little milk always helps too!)
All in all, I would definitely recommend the Keurig K-Cup K75 Platinum Brewer, or any other Keurig brewer, to every coffee fan who loves making their own wonderful cup of coffee rather than having to go out to get it every single day. It’s easy to use, clean, refill, and it makes delicious coffee, iced coffee, tea, and hot chocolate! What more could anyone possibly ever ask for?
