Last year I kept hearing about a hysterical musical out of the Gladstone Theatre called Freezing. I had thought about taking my family to see it, but with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season time slipped away and before I knew it, Freezing was no longer running.
Luckily, Freezing has become a holiday tradition for many Ottawa families, which means it is once again running at the Gladstone Theatre until January 3rd! If you are looking for something fun to do with the entire family this holiday season, I highly recommend seeing this year’s production of Freezing – Bigger, Bolder… Colder.
Filled with timely jokes for all ages (albeit sometimes very corny), catchy songs and the similarity of a popular Disney movie, Freezing may be familiar, but is made better with a beaver and snow monster unlike any other you will ever see!
Freezing‘s story line is simple, a Queen and her two daughters, Princess Adele and Princess Hanna, rule Snow Globe Kingdom, but the Kingdom is threatened by the evil Hans, a mischievous villain who wants to rid the world of winter’s wonderland. What makes Freezing enjoyable is that the audience is not only encouraged to sing along, but characters such as Rubble the Troll interact with various audience members throughout the show and, in our case, kept referring to them over and over again.
Freezing – Bigger, Bolder… Colder is a witty, interactive show that will have the entire family singing, smiling and laughing! My daughter loved saying “flap, flap, flap” every time the beaver came on stage and my husband and I enjoyed the larger than life stage presence of Queen Gerda. Freezing is a fun family holiday experience for all ages. So, grab your family (the grandparents too!), buy tickets and get ready to have some fantastically Freezing fun!
