Family Game Night

| December 29, 2016 | 10 Comments

We have a decent collection of board games, mostly from the days when we’d get together with friends for “game nights”. Nowadays, Hubs and I occasionally enjoy a game of Dominion or Lost Cities when we go wild and try something other than Netflix.

Board games are fun. We look forward to playing many a board game with our sons, too.

Not sure when that’ll be, though. Big Bro has liked board games since ever. Little Bro does too, but it’s a different kind of “like”.

As in, “I like to make my own rules”,  More of a monkey-wrenchy, sabotagey kind of like

 Family Game Night, circa 2016.

About the Author ()

I am a lifelong (award-winning!) cartoonist and mother of two delightful boys, aged 4 and 2. I like to view today's adventures in parenting as material for tomorrow's cartoon. Looking at family life through "cartoon-coloured glasses" helps me keep the all-important sense of humour required for raising kids... even for the events that don't seem so funny at the time. Lol, so true, my brother used to mess up the game just when I was about to win.

  2. Kristi says:

Certainly some people like board games more than others, but I find they’re a great way of interacting with each other and always entertaining šŸ™‚

I had a good laugh at your cartoon and sometimes it was just like that. Now my grandchildren are older we can really get down to playing.

  4. Cheryl says:

Looks pretty much like game night at our house!! šŸ™ lol

  5. Lynda Cook says:

We all like board games but my youngest daughter always ended up getting bored with playing and half way through the game would just quit or cause problems, ugh!!

Ah, that’s no fun. Did it ever change? I tried to set up Kerplunk for Little Bro the other day, but even that he wouldn’t play by the rules. Pulled out all the sticks in fistfuls.

Such a cute cartoon! Here my youngest is the bigger board game fan and we play games a few times a week. I love that time with just her as we can really connect and talk.
