Picture this: It is a cold and snowy day. You have children at home who want to go outside, but it is just too cold and windy. Your kids are bored, and they do not want to play or watch television anymore. What can you do to keep your children entertained on days like this? You could pop into a Curiosity Box! I received two boxes to review to see if they would feel the wonder after open one of these boxes.
Curiosity Box is a collection of fun and themed crafts and activities that comes to your home, either once or as a subscription, and can be enjoyed when the weather bad outside or if parents want to spend some quality time with their children. There are themes that both girls and boys can discover a world of fun with!
Both of the boxes were addressed to my daughter, and she was ecstatic to have the package sent to her! She could not wait to open her boxes to see what was inside of them!
The first box we opened was entitled, “Holiday Surprise.” Guess what I asked my daughter to do when we searched through the first box? I asked her, “Do you want to build a snowman?” Yes, we built a snowman, but it was not made of snow, but it was a craft that we did together with my son. We put together the paste (that was provided in the box as well as all of the materials), and added the finishing touches to our wintery friend! Besides waiting for the paste to dry, this craft was really quick and easy to put together, and the finished product is a decoration that we can have around our home all year-round.
Another craft that we really enjoyed was putting together the gingerbread house. Both of my children were all over this mini project. They were so excited to put this house together; I had to calm them down from time to time to finish it! They loved putting the walls together, adding the snow on the roof and at the bottom of the house, and they really loved adding the “candy” touches to the house’s exterior. The only issue I had with this craft was that it was hard to measure out how much of the glue dots were needed for each part of the house. I was trying to make sure the foam pieces would keep the foam pieces sticking to the house. Other than that, the gingerbread house really kept my kids entertained and engaged with the task at hand.
The next weekend, we opened our other box. My daughter was all smiles when she saw what was inside. It was a Frozen-themed called “Brrr… Its Cold!”
My favourite craft was putting together was a wintery frame. Both of my youngsters loved decorating this frame with snowflakes and snowmen faces. My daughter also loved putting the cherry on the top of the proverbial cake by sticking the princess jewel to make this craft complete.
My daughter really loved helping me put together their Frozen-themed charm bracelet. She handed me beads as I placed them on the stretchy wire provided to string them on. She was so excited to have this new piece of jewelry to add to her collection. She was prancing around the house, showing off her new “bling” to everyone in her princess dress, and she felt every bit of one with it on!
There are so many crafts and activities for children and their loved ones to do and to make, and we had a ball doing them all! There is also a fun factoid section at the end of each instruction pamphlet in these boxes. I thought that it was great that these facts went along with the theme of the box, and some of them I was not aware of until I read them!
Overall, my little ones loved discovering the wonder they found each time they opened a Curiosity Box! From delivery to the end of each craft or activity, they were enthralled with each box. They did not even notice that the gloomy day had passed by, and were a bit sad when we had to stop doing an activity because we had to eat or it was getting close to bath or bedtime. Both of them are also kind of sad that the packages that arrive at our door are not another Curiosity Box for them to open and have fun with. Curiosity Box is a great product to have on hand, whether weather is leery or delightful! One of these boxes would also make a great surprise for a child, whether it is a gift or for no reason at all! I would strongly urge you to try Curiosity Box and spend a wonder day having fun with your child.
