Diamond Edition of The Little Mermaid ~ Review and Giveaway CAN/US 10/20

| October 6, 2013 | 62 Comments

When I was a little girl, I clearly remember how irrevocably in love I was with The Little Mermaid. I watched the movie at least once a day, and, if I didn’t, oh good lord it would be the most horrific thing that had yet ever to occur. Every corner of my bedroom, from bed sheets to my lovely purple walls, was themed after Ariel. The movie made me happy unlike any other, and, to this day, still holds a special place in my heart. After all, who hasn’t seen or heard Disney’s version of The Little Mermaid?

It must be a very minimal number, I’m sure. Either the movie must have been seen as a child, as an adult, or even as a parent, but it is truly a movie someone of any age can enjoy with a kindled, childlike heart. After all, the story tells the tale of Ariel, a free-spirited mermaid princess (who only happens to be one of King Triton’s daughters), who longs to be apart of the human world. In order to do so, she strikes a bargain with Ursula the Sea Witch, and embarks on a fantastic adventure, with her dear friends Flounder and Sebastian at her side, to win the heart of a certain, and very handsome, Prince Eric. Ariel will need plenty of courage and bravery if she’ll ever want to make things right between both worlds.

After seeing the movie again after so long, I can truthfully say that I have an even greater appreciation for it. The songs are catchy and mesmerizing, the characters, from mermaids, to humans, to Flounder, and Sebastian, are adorable and absolutely kind, and it holds one of the most cherished and beloved love stories of all time. Undoubtedly, it is assuredly most difficult not to love such a beautiful twist on The Brothers Grimm’ classic fairy tale!

With the newly released Diamond Edition of The Little Mermaid on Blu-ray™, DVD, and Digital Copy, you can see Ariel and her beloved friends unlike ever before! The movie has been digitally restored with new state-of-the-art digital restoration, and it holds countless of fun little special features! Notably, there’s a Disney Intermission! When you press and pause, a special surprise appears on your screen! (Now, I’m not going to reveal what it is, of course.) There’s also Under the Scene, Crab-E-OKE sing along, a never before scene deleted character, a music video of “Part of Your World” by Carly Rae Jepsen, and so much more!
