I have what, on a good day, I refer to as delicate skin.
On the other days? I call it cheap skin.
It easily gets dry, and so over the years I’ve used a lot of different skin products to try to keep it healthy and happy.
Not many of them came quite as nicely and festively packaged as The Body Shop Ultimate Luxuries Gift Set in Strawberry that I recently had the opportunity to try out.
What’s inside this wonderfully wrapped box, you ask?
Well! All of this:
Given it arrived shortly after we’d just really hit our first cold snap here, and my skin noticed by seeming to spontaneously dry out, this package was well-timed.
I’ve spent the last few days truly enjoying these products.
My favourites have certainly been the moisturizers.
Body butter usually makes my winter list of essentials and this one isn’t as greasy or heavy as some I’ve tried and has a nice creamy feel to it.
The body sorbet is the lighter of the creams and I’ve been using that on my hands for the past few days. It absorbs quickly and again, doesn’t leave them greasy.
Both have been keeping my skin nice and moisturized since I undid that pretty silver ribbon and dipped into this gift set.
I’ve also tried out the other products as well and am confident they will all go to good and continued use in our family.
The scent – which I must admit is not one that would have usually thought to buy for myself – is actually quite lovely this time of year as I find it reminds me of summer which both my skin and I miss quite terribly.
My husband also reports, after a weekend of all things strawberry here (I have two preschool girls who have dipped into it as well) that the scent is “pleasant and not overpowering.”
Which is good, because they keep asking for the “perfume” – namely the “Eau de Toilette”.
I like it for me, but it works for them as well. And is certainly more affordable than the Hermès Calèche they discovered at Grandma’s house.
The gift set is available in store and online for $55 and would make a great gift for someone on your list looking for some pampering.
Lastly, in case feeling good in your skin and smelling like summer isn’t incentive enough, I also love that this holiday season The Body Shop is teaming up with War Child, the global charity for children affected by war.
The purchase of certain gifts – including this one – will provide a class to a child in a war-torn country. One gift = one class. The Body Shop is aiming to provide over 6 million lessons in war-torn areas through this initiative. So buying a gift also gives the gift of education to a child who needs it.
Happy shopping and Happy Holidays!
