Beat the Mean Effects of Winter on Your Skin with Shoppers Drug Mart #SDMWinterSkin

| January 7, 2015 | 8 Comments

Winter. It is cold, harsh and unforgiving. I have never been a fan of winter, for the aforementioned reasons. Winter also comes with less moisture in the air which can wreak havoc on our skin. One of the best ways to combat the harsh conditions that winter ushers our way is to protect it. Shoppers Drug Mart is here to help give you ways to protect yourself this winter with its line of products and their beautyRx tool that will help ward off Old Man Winter’s frosty touch to keep you and your family’s skin healthy this season!

Since I have dry skin, keeping it moisturized is a big concern for me, especially in the winter. Being a frequent shopper at Shoppers Drug Mart, I love that they carry so many beauty products that are looking out for the well-being of my skin. For my body, I love using Vaseline products to keep my body moisturized. I have been using their body lotions for years, and they have not let me down. This winter, I will start to use Vaseline Total Moisture™ Dry Skin Lotion. I find that when I use it, my skin does not feel as though it is cracking, and it is soft and smooth until I reapply it after I shower. I also like the scent of this lotion. It is not overbearing, so I smell great without smelling too much like perfume. Finally, it absorbs quickly, so it is not left on my skin long after I have applied it, so my skin does not feel greasy, and my clothes are not sticking to my skin when I put them on.

I may have my skin care regimen for my body all set for this winter, but I still do not have my face covered. I am still on the look-out for a great product to repair the damage to my face from the brisk winds and the cold dry air that winter brings with it. That is why I am going to go to Shoppers Drug Mart to pick up a bottle of Clinique Smart Custom-Repair Serum. It is suppose to give custom repair to both the damage that is visible on my face along with some of the damage that I cannot see. I like that this serum works for people of all ages and all ethnicities, so that anyone can use this product to repair their skin. It looks to repair the following facial issues most people are concerned about:

• Minimizes lines and wrinkles
• Firming and lifting skin
• Reducing dark spots and evening skin tone
• Improving radiance and texture.

Another great feature about shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart for my winter skin care is Shoppers Optimum Program! My family can earn points for purchasing participating skin care products. We have saved a lot of money on the points we have accumulated, and we will gladly earn more when we buy products that will guard our skin this winter!

If you are unsure about what products would be best for your skin type this winter, Shoppers Drug Mart has you covered as well! They have Beauty Experts who offer in-store complimentary skin care consultations using the beautyRx tool. The beautyRx tool gives a Skin Analysis that looks at two different aspects of your skin. The Moisture Checker measures the hydration levels of your skin. The Video Microscope enlarges your skin’s surface by 30 times to help determine your skin type. The Beauty Experts will look at the results of the beautyRx tool and will then recommend skin care products that are right for you! It would be great for you to try, especially if you are not exactly sure of your skin type.

Whether you are sure about your skin care needs, or are unsure about what would work best for your skin this winter, Shoppers Drug Mart is here to help keep your skin looking and feeling its best! I cannot wait to pop in and buy everything I need to be ready for the unfriendly conditions winter brings with it. I hope that you will give Shoppers Drug Mart a try to find what you need for your skin care routine as well!

I’m not a fan of winter either, way too cold for me and too much snow shovelling to do 🙂 I much prefer the warmth of the sun, roll on spring time and summer.
I like the sound of the Vaseline Total Moisture™ Dry Skin Lotion, my skin dries out in winter, especially my heels, elbows and fingers. I’ve not tried this one yet but it might be the one that’s just right for me 🙂

Shoppers is always my go to for skincare supplies. Both the pharmacy and cosmetic staff works are always more than helpful to answer my questions. The prices are often higher but the sales and points more than make up for that. 🙂
