A Parenting Sampler: Fitness, Healthy Food and Baby Sleep – Proceeds to CHEO – Monday, April 14th, 2014
It was 2 am and my baby’s breathing was labored. He was visibly struggling for air, his neck muscles activated trying to pull in air against resistance. My empathy for him was crippling, and there was a terrible feeling of uncertainty in my chest about how to help him. Finally, we pulled the trigger…. that’s it, we’re going to CHEO.
Many of you have probably been in similar situations when your child is sick. Whether it be a raging fever, a dangerous fall or a suspicious rash, there’s worse than seeing your child not feeling well. We are so fortunate to have CHEO in our own backyard. A place to seek help and get pediatric specialists to assess our children.
My colleagues at TummyThyme Nutrition, FITMOM and myself, the owner of Helping Babies Sleep, have all been in this position before with our own children. We are 4 local mothers and business owners. In the bleakness of this past winter when colds were running rampant, and health on the radar, we decided it was our turn to give something back to CHEO.
How does one give back to CHEO? With money or time. We decided we could donate our time, and our expertise in our fields of study, to help a group of people near and dear to our hearts. New Moms.
On Monday, April 14th at 10:00 am we will be putting on a “Parenting Sampler: Fitness, Healthy Food and Baby Sleep” , at the Ottawa Birth and Wellness Center on Walkley Road, with the proceeds going to CHEO.
Our goal of this presentation is to give you some simple and effective tips that Moms can implement into their daily lives to make their lives and the lives of their children better either with fitness, food or sleep.
