I have not been on a Ladies’ Day with my friends in a while. Our lives are crazy, but I thought it was about time get together with one of my best friends to have a day together. Since my birthday was just around the corner, she suggested going out for lunch. I then heard about the spring National Women’s Show being in town April 11th and 12th, so we decided to make a fun day out of attending this popular event!
After getting glammed up and eating lunch, my friend’s husband graciously chauffeured us to the Shaw Centre, this season’s venue for the National Women’s Show. This was my friend’s first visit to this event, and she was ready to see what it had in store for us. We tried some of the product demonstrations from some of the vendors and spoke to other vendors about their products and programs. Some of the vendors also had a breathtaking view of downtown Ottawa and the Parliament Buildings that made being indoors seem more open.
We were also drawn to the Food section of the Show, and tried some of the food and drinks being offered and sold from various different businesses.
We also passed by the main stage where guest speakers such as Dylan McDermott and fashion shows from Sukhoo Sukhoo and Nygård Slims took place.
There were also rows of booths of jewelry, health and beauty products and clothing and accessories to look at and purchase and enjoy. It was really hard not to buy many of the products we looked at.
My friend and I had a great time at the spring National Women’s Show. We were educated about many programs and products we have been interested in or had never heard of before attending the Show, we got to sample a lot of delicious food and drinks, we watched demonstrations and we cruised all of the merchandise vendors had to offer. I cannot wait until this fall’s edition of the Show to see the what they have in store for us in Ottawa to see and experience. The Spring National Women’s Show made my early birthday celebration more special and fun, especially when I got to spend the day with such an amazing friend!
